What is Coaching for Educational Equity? Formal and informal coaches often lack the expertise in adult learning and facilitation needed to foster new behaviors and practices - especially in challenging contexts. Coaching for Educational Equity (CFEE) trains professional or peer coaches to develop leaders and teams that can effectively address inequities in their schools, districts, communities, and nonprofit organizations. The BayCES CFEE framework draws from our extensive research in group facilitation, leadership studies, organizational change, adult learning, and cultural competence, and our 14 years of experience in executive and educational coaching. The CFEE Institute addresses the social-emotional components of transformative leadership and organizational change. CFEE Participants gain: - Powerful models and tools to plan, implement, and assess coaching.
- Techniques for understanding and assessing people and practices in organizations.
- Skills for leading change in challenging contexts, including social-emotional intelligence and building trust and relationships.
- Awareness of the impact of racism and other biases and the ways they manifest in institutional policies and practices.
- Increased ability to target coaching on root problems rather than symptoms.
- Protocols for leading structured coaching conversations.
- Practice in effective facilitation and intervention techniques.
- Tools, research, and resources for continued coaching skill development.
